Fundraising
We fundraise to support our organization, and match donations collected by our supporters to be donated to the local organization we chose to support!
Each year, GVDT has two fundraisers. For the Fall 2024 Semester, we are supporting a nonprofit called I Understand, which is located in Ada. MI. I Understand is a nonprofit organization that offers compassionate comfort for those affected by suicide or mental/brain health illness and pain. They believe in a future where the stigma associated with suicide and mental/brain illness is erased. I Understand strives to support all individuals who are going through a hard time. Mental/brain illness is not a choice, it is an illness, and this stigma needs to be erased! Our organization is proud to work along side I Understand, to erase this stigma that has been created
In order to raise money for I Understand not only will recital profits support the organization, but our dancers will also be participating in fundraisers throughout the semester! Dancers as well as family and friends can help us out by buying goods from our fundraising parters! This semester our dancers have the opportunity to work with some great local places like Bliss Allendale, Tea Time Cafe, and Panera bread! This semester we will also be doing Football squares which allows for a dancer or supporter to win some money back! Each dancer in GVDT is expected to participate in three of these fundraisers or opt to buy-out.
