Fundraising
We fundraise to support our organization, and match donations collected by our supporters to be donated to the local organization we chose to support!
Each year, GVDT has four fundraisers. For the Winter 2025 Semester, we are supporting a nonprofit called Family Promise, which is located right here in Grand Rapids, MI. Family Promise prevents and ends homelessness for families with children and helps them achieve sustainable independence through a community-based response. Family Promise delivers innovative solutions for family homelessness including prevention, shelter, and stabilization services. They have served more than 1 million family members since their founding more than 30 years ago. Our organization is proud to work along side Family Promise, to help families in need.
In order to raise money for Family Promise not only will recital profits support the organization, but our dancers will also be participating in fundraisers throughout the semester! Dancers as well as family and friends can help us out by buying goods from our fundraising parters! This semester our dancers have the opportunity to work with some great local places like Bliss Allendale, Tea Time Cafe, and Panera bread! This semester we will also be doing Football squares which allows for a dancer or supporter to win some money back! Each dancer in GVDT is expected to participate in three of these fundraisers or opt to buy-out.
